CaixaBank demonstrate robust contngency
Press release - 18 July 2011
Barcelona’s CaixaBank has been awarded certification by the British Standards Institution (BSI) to the business continuity management system standard, BS 25999.
The certification recognises "la Caixa"’s commitment to best practices in business continuity management and continuous improvements regarding its processes. It demonstrates clearly that CaixaBank has continuous improvement systems in pace for its processes and procedures to ensure the continuity of operations in any eventuality.
Caixa’s scope of certification is extensive, covering a wide range of the bank’s central services, including general services, banking services, IT services, organisation and quality, human resources, treasury, market risk management, cards and security.
In an unpredictable economic and environmental climate, business continuity is an essential process for any business, in particular those in the financial sector, and will help an organisation establish a robust framework of processes to ensure the continuity of critical business functions during and after a contingency.
Accredited independent third party verification from a global market leader such as BSI means far more than just a certificate. Certification will ultimately give confidence to customers, employees, regulators and society in general that CaixaBank is capable of responding to any event that might affect business operations.
